Project Description: Preparation of a masterplan and planning application for the demolition of the existing structures on this institutional site and development of a residential scheme on the southern portion of the lands and a monastery on the northern portion.
Scope of Services:
John Spain Associates in association with O’Mahony Pike Architects were responsible for preparing a masterplan together with advising on all planning aspects associated with the future development of these institutional lands at Marianella, Rathgar, Dublin 6.
John Spain Associates were responsible for lodging two planning applications relating to the site, one for a Monastery development to the north of the site and one for a residential development to the south of the site. Both applications were approved by Dublin City Council. The residential development of 199 no. units was approved by An Bord Pleanala on appeal.
John Spain Associates were also responsible for preparing a successful submission to Dublin City Council during the course of the review of the City Development Plan to ensure that residential use remained ‘open for consideration’ on lands zoned Objective Z15.
