John Spain Associates, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, helped to secure planning permission from Dublin City Council and An Bord Pleanála following a third-party appeal, for the construction of an aparthotel development accommodating 165 no. bedrooms including meeting rooms, gym and café/bar/restaurant at ground floor. The development included the refurbishment of No. 34/35 & 36/37 Ormond Quay Lower which are protected structures. Two new blocks were constructed to the rear of the protected structures of up to 7 no. storeys in height, with a roof terrace and courtyard separating the new blocks from the protected structures.
