Overview
JSA Planning were appointed as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide planning inputs and strategic advice for the preparation of a masterplan for lands at Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork, controlled by the Irish Maritime and Energy Resource Cluster (IMERC).
JSA Planning Role
IMERC is a national initiative supporting Ireland’s maritime and energy sectors, involving UCC, CIT, and the Irish Naval Service.
The masterplan for reclaimed lands at Ringaskiddy provides a framework for a campus-style development to accommodate industry partners through:
- Co-located industry suites
- Incubation units
- Networking and brokering programmes
- Innovation partnerships and joint ventures
JSA worked collaboratively with IMERC, UCC, the Port of Cork, and other stakeholders to develop a site strategy and masterplan aligned with IMERC’s objectives.
Outcome
The project delivered a high-quality land use framework for a campus-style office and light industrial development on strategic lands, supporting innovation and collaboration in Ireland’s maritime and energy sectors.
