Overview

JSA Planning acted as planning consultants for the redevelopment of Clery’s Department Store on O’Connell Street. The permitted development involves the refurbishment, extension and change of use of the protected structure at 18–27 O’Connell Street Lower to provide a major mixed-use retail, office, hotel and café/restaurant scheme.

JSA Planning Role

JSA coordinated the planning strategy for OCS Property Limited, managing multiple applications for regeneration of the former department store and wider block, including large-scale retail units, offices, food and beverage spaces, and a new rooftop venue.

Outcome

Final planning permission was granted by Dublin City Council in March 2017. The project is nearing completion and will play a significant role in the rejuvenation of O’Connell Street and its environs.
