Overview
JSA Planning acted as planning consultants for the redevelopment of a site at North Wall Quay and New Wapping Street, now home to The Samuel Hotel and Salesforce Tower.
JSA Planning Role
The project included:
- Refurbishment and extension of the former British Rail Hotel (protected structure) to create The Samuel Hotel with 169 rooms, restaurant, bar/lounge, and conference spaces
- Construction of an 8-storey mixed-use building connected to the hotel
- Development of a 9-storey office building housing Salesforce’s European headquarters (21,000+ sq.m)
- A part 6, part 7-storey mixed-use building with retail, restaurant, café units, and office spaces (18,000+ sq.m). Public realm enhancements introduced new streets and landscaped areas, improving connectivity and revitalizing the Docklands.
Outcome
The project successfully delivered a vibrant mixed-use development, preserving heritage while creating a dynamic business and leisure hub in Dublin’s Docklands.
