Brian Coughlan

Brian joined JSA in 2024.  He has over 17 years’ experience in the private planning consultancy sector in both Ireland and the UK following completion of his Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from Herriot Watt, Edinburgh in 2006.

Brian also holds a BA in Geography and Linguistics from University College Dublin and an Advanced Diploma in Planning and Environmental Law from King’s Inns.

Brian has significant experience in the preparation of planning applications, development plan submissions and appeals on a range of schemes including residential, commercial, office, healthcare, leisure, renewables and industrial development.  His experience includes working with large multi-disciplinary teams in the preparation and submission of complex planning applications to local authorities and directly to An Bord Pleanála.

Brian is a member of the Irish Planning Institute and the Royal Town Planning Institute.
