Overview
JSA secured planning permission for 444 student bedspaces across nine blocks ranging from one to seven storeys, including the refurbishment of an existing gate lodge. The scheme retained the historic disused water tower, a protected structure, with careful consideration of its setting.
JSA Planning Role
JSA prepared and managed the planning application, addressing heritage constraints and providing access solutions including a public laneway link to Rathdown Road, improving connectivity to the Grangegorman TUD Campus. JSA also managed pre‑commencement compliance.
Outcome
An Bord Pleanála upheld the Dublin City Council decision and granted permission in November 2017 following appeals. The scheme is now fully operational and integrates with the Highfield Park PBSA to the south.
