Overview
Under the Strategic Housing Development process, JSA Planning formed part of a team who secured planning permission for 257 student bedspaces on under-utilised brownfield lands at Parnell Street and Temple Lane North, Dublin 1.
JSA Planning Role
JSA provided strategic planning advice, led pre‑application consultation with Dublin City Council and An Bord Pleanála, and coordinated the submission of the SHD application. The proposals included restoring and refurbishing the protected former St. Peter’s Bakery building and delivering sensitively designed accommodation blocks to the rear.
JSA secured two amendment permissions and an extension of duration, and also managed pre‑commencement compliance.
Outcome
Planning permission was granted by An Bord Pleanála, and the development is now nearing completion. JSA continues to act as retained planning consultants on the project.
