JSA Planning, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, secured planning permission for an aparthotel development at Ormond Quay Lower, Dublin 1.
JSA Planning Role
The development accommodates 165 bedrooms, meeting rooms, gym, and café/bar/restaurant at ground floor.
It involved:
- Refurbishment of protected structures at No. 34/35 & 36/37 Ormond Quay Lower
- Construction of two new blocks to the rear, up to 7 storeys, with a roof terrace and courtyard separating the new blocks from the protected structures. Permission was granted by Dublin City Council and upheld by An Bord Pleanála following a third-party appeal.
Outcome
The project successfully delivered a high-quality aparthotel while preserving historic architecture and enhancing leisure facilities in Dublin city centre.
